There is also Michael Lowy's article in RADICAL PHILOSOPHY on Prfane 
Illumination (author Margaret Cohen by the way). Lowy was obviously 
impressed by the book, but argues against some of its points. You, 
William, will have seen it in the last ANALOGON.

Susan Buck-Morss' DIALECTICS OF SEEING, about Benjamin's Arcades 
Project is more essential reading on this matter.

There is much that Carl-Michael said that I agree with, some things I 
didn't. It was all a bit sweeping, more I suspect a gut reaction than 
a fully considered statement, more extreme than anything you said in 
London, Carl-Michael? But it seems to me that may be dangerously near 
the truth of the matter. I will mull over the last couple of posts 
and give my own reaction.
