Subject: [CYBERVIEW] Prof. Ken Goldberg in "Scientific American"

Greetings technologists,

HI --I thought --this might interest you.
It is wonderful to see the name of scholar, *Ken Goldberg* in the latest
June issue of Scientific American, when the author has mentioned his name
in his essay, "Accounting for Taste" --btw the article is interesting
--Author wrote, *..Personal taste is notoriously tricky to quantify.
Nonlinear, and just barely associative..as "Taste is idiosyncratic" says
Ken Y. Goldberg of the University of California at Berkeley, who studies
the subject as a computer software problem..*

The complete article can be read at:
<http://www.sciam.com/2000/0600issue/0600cyber.html>

Hi, Prof. Ken Goldberg has also developed a software, "SLEEPER" -a new
framework to recommend new books --which is located at
<http://www.pmetrics.com/sleeper> The software is following the philosophy
of *Collaborative Filtering* which predicts individual preferences based
on the preferences of others. --I checked it, is working great!

Thank you!
Sincerely
Arun Tripathi
