Subject: "The Avatar"

Greetings technology lists,

Hi..
An Avatar is a representation of a networked user in a collaborative
virtual environments. The applications finds tracker information
indicating each collaborators location within the shared virtual space.
The avatars or representations of the tracker data, of all collaborators
are displayed in the shared environment and are visible to all other
remote participants in a correct two or three time dimensional
relationship to the virtual environments. As high speed network becomes
more available, and video compression technology advances, using live
video to display remote users becomes a natural step for creating avatars.
