Dear members of the Third World Women list:


I am writing on behalf of the Higher Education Center Against Violence and
Abuse in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA.  I would like to invite any
readers who belong to organizations outside of the U.S. and Canada to 
submit information to an electronic clearinghouse maintained by the Higher
Education Center. 

The Higher Education Center's clearinghouse is accessible through the
World Wide Web.  It is a collection of resources relating to violence and
abuse which includes bibliographies about domestic and sexual violence,
child abuse, genocide, other hate crimes, scholarly papers and articles
that can be downloaded by users, course syllabi, a listing of funders with
information on the internet, and links to other electronic resources about
violence and abuse.  We receive more than 1,000 visits to our site 
each month.   (If you have access to a browser for the World Wide
Web, you can visit our site at: http://www.umn.edu/mincava). 

We are currently developing a section of the clearinghouse that is devoted
to organizations outside of North America that are working to end violence
of any kind.  The aim of this listing is to help foster links among the
international community of activists working to end violence and abuse by
sharing contacts, strategies for ending violence, resources, and stories.

Descriptions about organizations could include a listing of recent
activities, a brief report or update about violence and abuse in your
country or community, strategies you are utilizing to address this
violence, and/or resources that you are seeking (i.e. funding, equipment,
books, etc.).  We would like to list each organization's name, mailing 
address, phone/fax number(s), and e-mail address so that users of the
clearinghouse could contact them if they wanted more information about the
group.
