Hi ROse.  In terms of the militant nature of the term Chicana/o, I think
it's a tricky question.  It's certainly a source of empowerment, but I think
it also serves to alienate people.  Especially since many recent Latina/o
immigrants are from Central America.  Chicana/o is very Mexico specific.  So
I wonder if the term is actually as useful as it once might have been.  Any
thoughts?
