Subject: Represenations of the Other, Exoticism


Hello everyone, I have another request. I am writing to enquire whether
people could give me suggestions to publications that deal with
exotification of non-Western cultures, and representations of the Other.
Anthropological/literary/graphics/film/pop: anything would be appreciated.

Radhika, I would be willing to take the time to ask for permission from
authors if we can all sit down and decide what authors/writings/texts we
are going to read for the readings of non-Western feminism. Can we have a
show of hands (!) of people who are interested in participating in the
readings? People could also start suggesting what kinds of writing/text
they are interested in.
         I would be interested in having a little bit of Spivak in there...
