Subject: reading

hello everyone, hello radhika:

i'm new to this list but am interestied in the
shared reading approach, provided that i can
find the books and articles mentioned. i'm
living in hong kong, in semi-isolation from
the academic world, library privileges
and the rest,...but i'll do my best,
and at worse, pherhaps make comments on
some of the comments (?)

i don't like the idea of offering names,
iguess , being somewhat wary of
cannonization, although i know that's
not the intenet here, ...someone
had mentioned rey chow, so i just wanted
to add along trinh minh-ha as well,
although i'm sure that there are many
others too, less er known, doing wonderful
work.

also, not wanting to fix location, though
of course there are specificities to be
aware of, since my work at the moemnt
involves "writing "about" hk/asia, i've
been very much inspired by reading the
works of women theorists from latin america
and elsewhere, in thinking about the
commonalities and differences, ifeel that i am
broadening my vision.

thanks for all the great ideas,
stella
