Subject:	URGENT - Fiji Parliament taken over

Friends & family
at 25 to 11 this morning - Parliament was taken over by a gorup of 
civilians - armed with guns.  Have taken all members of Parl hostage... all 
contact out of the country has been cut off.  They have sabotaged our only 
long distance phone provider, Fintel.  So we cannot call you and you cannot 
call us.  All business are shut as of 12 pm today.  So all have gone home. 
Fijians are getting really agitated, and trhowing insults at Indians - a 
repeat of 1987 obviously.  All airports have been guarded and shut.  One of 
the masked armed men has been identified as George Speight.  The rest have 
yet to be identified.
We do not know anything except for what the media is covering live from 
Parliament House.  All MPs are held hostage in a room up there.
We ask for your prayers in the fate of our MPs, and our country as a whole. 
We are all safe at this point in time - only time will tell what will 
happen next.  Keep your eyes glued to the TV, we are sure there will be 
some international media coverage.
